Yesterday, I took the time to read parts of Health Care Reform Act. There are many parts that struck me. There is much chatter about the cost and what we would get. What I see is the onus is going to be on the consumer to figure out how to navigate the new system. An health insurance market exchange is being suggested as a vehicle for consumers and business to access plans in their states. In essence the exchange is a central place for securing healthcare tax free and at lower prices. It provides individual costs to come into a reasonable range. Currently, if you purchase healthcare directly, your cost is at least double that of a business. With so many business dropping healthcare benefits, it is very difficult t obtain a premium below $1,000 for an individual and $3,000 for a family. It is important that the healthcare reform level the playing field in some way for families. Check out this article as it explains the concept and why it should be implemented. http://www.heritage.org/research/healthcare/wm1230.cfm
