This week, the Empowered Patient welcomes Towanna Harris, a courageous and loving mother and caregiver to three children. One child has been diagnosed with autism and hemophilia and another with sickle cell disease. In order to avoid a medical crisis, she has become well educated on each disease process and has become an expert and advocate for her children’s needs. She is well versed in the pitfalls of both the healthcare and education systems. She will be discussing how she has been able to keep her children healthy, access services and keep positive. She will also be sharing with us, her dream of starting a foundation for autistic children. You wont’ want to miss this extrordinary story.
